Record number of degrees conferred to Evangel graduates

Evangel University celebrated its 55th annual graduation ceremony, when a record 552 graduates walked the line on Friday, May 3, 2013.
The total included traditional undergraduate, graduate, adult studies and James River Leadership Campus students.
The previous record number of graduates was 494 in 2009.
The ceremony was held in the main sanctuary at James River Assembly of God in Ozark, Missouri.
Evangel President Dr. Robert H. Spence observed his 39th ceremony as leader of the university. Spence is scheduled to give the commencement address at commencement in 2014, which will be his final act as president.
Alumnus Cecil Richardson, a Major General and Chief of Chaplains in the United States military, served as commencement speaker in 2013.
Dr. Doug Green, Rev. John Lindell and Dr. George Wood also contributed to the day’s proceedings with prayers and scripture readings.
