Work ethic drives Evangel’s Kleine to big heights

One year from now, he’ll walk out of here with a degree in hand. But in a world where some peers seek six-figure salaries in some cushy office job right out of the gate, well, not him.

BasketballEventWhich probably is no surprise to those who know Evangel University senior Zack Kleine.

You know the old saying about the country and the boy? He is the basketball version — you can take him out of basketball, but you can’t take the basketball out of him.

“I plan on getting into coaching and staying involved with the game somehow,” a grinning and bearded Kleine recently said in a meeting room just off the gym at the Ashcroft Center, where he has starred many a night. “My dad’s a coach, and basketball has been such a big part of my life since I can remember.”
