I Think I Am Failing a Class

I am a fighter. I will overcome.

The first round of tests have been given. Students are starting to receive feedback from teachers, and not all of it is positive. Some students are feeling panicked and overwhelmed, realizing that a class is not as easy as they thought it was going to be or coming to terms with failing grades. At this point in the game, there is time to regroup, strategize, and refocus on success. The battle is not lost.

  1. Keep yourself in check. How is the balance of spiritual life, academics, socializing, and emotional health? If one component is off balance, the whole system becomes unstable.
  2. Assess your study skills. Are you taking sufficient notes, reviewing material throughout the week, and allotting enough time for proper preparation for the class? You will not succeed at something you do not pay an appropriate amount or manner of attention to. Education should be a priority.
  3. Join a study group or come into the Academic Support Center to utilize the free resources at your disposal. Success is at hand. Will you take hold?
