Evangel University

Clark Award

The Clark Award was established in 1991 by Dan and Elaine Johnson in honor of her parents, recognizing their work on behalf of higher education in the Assemblies of God.

Each spring, Evangel faculty and students nominate candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. A recipient is then selected by a committee consisting of the academic dean, a senior student, a recent alumnus, faculty members and a previous Clark Award recipient.

The Clark Award is presented each year during Evangel’s commencement ceremony. In 2005, Dr. Dan Johnson, Evangel alum and president of Toledo University was the commencement speaker.
