At Evangel’s Criminal Justice Department, we don’t want you to hit the books without soon putting your knowledge to practice. That’s why each course is tailored toward giving you both the knowledge and the know-how. Stuff that makes going to class fun. And stuff you’ll be able to take to your job after college.
Here is a sample of the classes you’ll take.
Introduction to Criminal Justice is the first CJ class you take. You’ll get a wide-lens view of the entire Criminal Justice system, including topics like police, court, probation and parole and juvenile justice.
Criminal Investigation teaches you how to investigate a crime scene and then makes you do it. You’ll learn to conduct several types of investigations and get to work with the some of the same evidence processing kits that police detectives use. You’ll learn the real-life techniques of crime scene processing, finger printing, interviews and interrogation.
Criminal and Delinquent Behavior is basically a criminology course, covering the science of why people commit crimes and what to do with them after they’re caught.
Corrections in America will expose you to the entire Criminal Justice system, from the police to the courts, juvenile justice system and more. The best part of this class is the field trips. (That’s right, field trips!) Over the course of the class, you’ll go to five prison and jail facilities… but then back to campus, of course.
Juvenile Delinquency overviews everything about Juvenile crime, from what causes it to how it is played out, how to control it, and how to treat those who do it. The problems juveniles experience are bigger than ever before, and this class hits on as many questions as it does answers.
