Psychology
Welcome to the most exciting major at Evangel! Finding our site indicates that you have “seen the light” or are open to finding it. Psychology is one of the largest majors on campus. We are excited about providing you with a top-notch psychology degree. Graduating seniors last year as a group scored in the 80th percentile on the ACAT, a national psychology achievement test (ten of the 30 scored above the 90th percentile).
Those who obtain a 3.0 GPA have great opportunities to go on to graduate schools. The reason is that we stress research and give students opportunities to learn these skills and present their findings at conferences. Recent grads are attending graduate programs at Regent University, George Fox University, Iowa State University, Kansas University, Forrest Institute of Professional Studies, the Assemblies of God Theological seminary, and our own Evangel University graduate school.
Not only do we prepare you academically, we provide tremendous opportunities to do practicum and internships, even going to Kenya, Africa to do clinical work with students and children. Here you learn how to apply the classroom content to clinical populations. This also provides golden opportunities to grow personally. And to top it all off, we provide this in the context of a biblically based integration model, combining our faith with our psychology. What more could you want? Again, welcome to the most exciting department.
