Journalism

The journalism major prepares students for work in print publications such as newspapers, magazines, and newsletters. Students take courses in news writing, feature writing, publication design, copyediting, and desktop publishing. The publication workshops include the student newspaper, The Lance and the college yearbook, Excalibur.

Journalism students receive practical training in newspaper and magazine design by working on these publications. The department also offers a Journalism minor.
