University Jazz Ensemble

The University Jazz Ensemble performs contemporary compositions as well as jazz classics and sacred jazz arrangements. The ensemble offers students of all majors the opportunity to experience jazz performance and a variety of jazz styles. Rehearsals also provide a setting in which students can learn some of the finer points of improvisation, jazz history, and theory. In addition to regular concerts on campus, the Jazz Ensemble performs at churches, schools, workshops and festivals in Springfield and beyond.

The University Jazz Ensemble meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm-6:15pm. Enrollment is by audition on trumpet, trombone, saxophone, guitar, piano, bass and drums/percussion. For more information, or to book the Jazz Ensemble for your event, contact Matthew Warner.
