Majors
By choosing one of the majors in Physical Education, Recreation and Exercise Science, you earn a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Athletic Training prepares students to work as an athletic trainer in a variety of setting including, but not limited to secondary school systems, collegiate athletic departments, out-patient rehabilitation clinics, hospital systems, as well as industrial settings. Upon graduation EU athletic training degree recipients will be immediately qualified to sit for the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification exam. Application (pdf)
- Exercise Science prepares students for professional practice in a variety of fields including exercise physiology, exercise and fitness training, hospital-based and corporate wellness programming, physical therapy and sports medicine. The degree also prepares students for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NASCA) Exam.
- Physical Education integrates extensive school-based field work for those interested in teaching and related fields and certifies you to teach grades K-12.
- Recreation focuses on running parks and recreation programs.
Minors
- Health qualifies you for certification in grades PK-9.
- Personal Training is a comprehensive minor for those interested in becoming personal trainers or group fitness instructors.
