Chemistry professor publishes essay
Dr. Steve Badger, professor of chemistry at Evangel University, recently had an essay published in the fall 2011 edition of Advance, the publication of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
Degree Programs
Students planning to teach secondary school can choose a Biology, Chemistry, or Mathematics Education major, completing Secondary Education professional requirements through the Department of Education.
Majors
- Biology is a wide-ranging field of endeavor, allowing for many diverse employment opportunities and graduate studies. Recent graduates have entered the fields of medicine (including physicians, nursing, physician's assistants, physical therapists and medical technologists), marine biology, field ecology, pharmacology, veterinary medicine, teaching, physiological computing, and many others.
Course Descriptions - Degree Sheets - The Biological Chemistry major was designed to be an interdisciplinary major for biology or chemistry students that seek further graduate training in a biological or medical setting. A major in biological chemistry is also a perfect fit for students looking toward careers in pre pharmacy.

Students in this program take a broad mix of classes in the life and physical sciences. This major provides students with a large amount of field and laboratory work.
Course Descriptions - Degree Sheet (pdf) - Health Care-Nursing is a cooperative effort with the Lester L. Cox College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Participants earn two Bachelor’s degrees: a B.S. in Health Care from Evangel and a B.S.N. from Cox.
Course Descriptions - Degree Sheets (pdf) - Nursing Program - Mathematics majors may go on to teach mathematics or go to graduate school. Graduates in mathematics also find that their degree opens the door to a number of other opportunities, from actuarial science to business to law school.
Course Descriptions - Degree Sheets - Medical Technology is a cooperative program in which students attend Evangel for three years, and — if accepted — complete the fourth year in a local school of medical technology.
Course Descriptions - Degree Sheets (pdf) - Pre-Engineering offers a dual degree program whereby a student completes at least 78 credits at Evangel and then graduates from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited engineering school. Upon graduation from the engineering school, the student is awarded two diplomas: a Bachelor of Science in either Mathematics or Chemistry from Evangel and an Engineering degree from the second institution.
