Evangel graduate killed in Afghanistan
The Evangel University family is sad to announce the loss of a 2010 graduate, First Lt. David Johnson, killed in action January 25, 2012, in Afghanistan.
Degree Programs
Majors
- Government is for students interested in political science or careers in teaching, law, government service, politics, international relations and civic activities.
- Legal Studies is for students interested in Pre-Law or Paralegal coursework. The Legal Studies program is designed to meet the needs of students who plan to go to law school and to train students to become legal assistants (paralegals) in the legal, government, and business communities.
- History majors study American and world history, historiography and church-state relationships.
- Public Administration, an interdisciplinary program, is offered in conjunction with the Department of Business and is designed to prepare students for responsible leadership positions in public affairs.
- Social Science is ideal if you wish to have a broad scope of study for graduate programs or if you plan to enter a career in elementary or secondary education.
- International and Multicultural Studies is for those interested in work overseas or among multiethnic groups in America, providing study and practical experience. Opportunities for internships and studies overseas are available.
- Military Science, the Military Science program (Army ROTC) has prepared Evangel men and women for commissions as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army, the Army National Guard, and the Army Reserves.
Minors
- Anthropology is useful for those who want to work in multicultural fields such as missions, education, and overseas employment in business and government.
- Church History combines discussion of history in art, music, and philosophy.
- International Relations benefits students who are going on to graduate work in International Relations or Government.
Teaching Certification
Certification to teach Social Studies is available for three levels:
- Elementary School
- Middle School
- Secondary School
Other teacher education professional requirements are completed through the Education Department.
