Merwin Pickney

Merwin Pickney, attended Evangel University two and a half years, received a B.S. degree in Economics from Arkansas State University in 1968, was certified as a church business administrator by the National Association of Church Business Administrators in 1980 and received an MBA degree from Southwest Missouri State University in 1982. He received his Specialized Ministry License from the General Council Assemblies of God in 1989.
After 9 years in retail and financial management, Merwin became the Business Administrator at Evangel Temple Christian Center, Springfield, Missouri where he served from 1977 to 1984. From 1984 to 1989 he served as the Business Administrator and Stewardship Director for the Illinois District Council Assemblies of God. From 1989-1996 he served as the Administrator for Broken Arrow Assembly of God Church and Schools, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He has been serving as the Minister of Administration at Woodlake Assembly of God in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1996. He also serves as his church’s Christian Education Director, Evangelism Coordinator and Chair of the Benevolence Committee.
Merwin served on the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA) Board of Directors as Senior Vice President for Certification/Education/Training from 1989 to 1994. He currently serves as the chair of the A/G Church Administrators Certification Committee, is President of the Green Country Chapter of NACBA, is a member of NACBA Professional Training & Standards Committee, and is President of the Tulsa Chapter of EU Alumnus. He is a frequent guest teacher at the local universities and seminar speaker for denominational conferences.
Merwin is married to Dorothy (68), has a son, Rod (00), and a daughter, Stephanie. Rod works for a CPA firm in Tulsa. Stephanie is a senior at Evangel and was on the homecoming court.
