Senior Hurler wins award for second straight week

Springfield, Mo — Evangel University, pitcher Kimberly Williams was named Heart of America conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Williams, a senior from Loveland, Colorado went 2-0 with an earned run average of 0.32 in three games. During the week, she pitched 22 innings allowing 16 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run, 3 walks with 20 strikeouts.
On March 31, Williams fired 11 shutouts innings in a 3-0 extra-innings win at Central Methodist. In that game, she struck out a season high 15 batters while walking only one. Williams also picked up a win over William Jewell and received a no-decision in an 11-6 extra-inning win at Baker on Saturday.
For the season, Williams is with a 2.81 ERA. She has struck out 79 while allowing just 15 walks in 82.1 innings.
The Lady Crusaders are currently ranked 19th nationally by the NAIA with a record of 23-9, 8-1 in the conference and are back at home Wednesday when they host Missouri Valley in a doubleheader.
