Springfield, Mo. — Evangel put together a 4-run sixth inning that broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Crusaders a 6-3 win over Missouri Valley. Evangel posted four runs on three hits and took advantage of three Vikings errors.

The Lady Crusaders took the lead on a bunt by Chelsea Preaus and subsequent throwing error by pitcher Tatum Heathcock. Kayla Spencer added another run on an RBI single and Kendra Corbin drove in two more on a single.

Kimberly Williams won her 10th game of the season for Evangel going 6.1 innings, allowing 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.

Springfield, Mo. — The Lady Crusaders completed a sweep of Missouri Valley with a 6-1 win in the second game.

Anna McKinny picked up the win going seven innings allowing just two hits, one unearned run with one walk and two strikeouts.

Breanna Canclini went 2 for 4 at the plate with two doubles included a third inning extra-base hit that drove in a pair of runs that put Evangel on the scoreboard.

The win was Evangel’s sixth straight win.

The Lady Crusaders return to action today with a conference doubleheader at Benedictine.
