Evangel Athletics Awarded Heart of America Conference Sportsmanship Award for 2008-09

Springfield, Mo. — The Evangel University Athletics Department was named winners of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award for 2008-09 by the conference’s Board of Governors. The award was voted on by conference athletic directors, coaches and game officials from all sports.
It is the third time in four years that Evangel University has won the award. Evangel athletics was also honored by the league in the 2005-06 sports season and the following year in 2006-07. The Sportsmanship Award was established four years ago in the 2005-06 season and awarded annually by the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
