Big Second Half Carries EU To 74-46 Over CMU

Springfield, MO – Leading by one at the half, 26-25, Evangel put together a big second half and blew out Central Methodist 74-46 in a Heart of America conference game at the Ashcroft Center Thursday night. Evangel outscored Central Methodist 48-21 in the second half to pull away for the win.

Caitlin Russell led all scorers with 20 points and hit 5 three-pointers. Kelsie Hargus added 15 points and Kara Blankenship and Ashlee Luko had 14 each.

The Lady Crusaders (9-4, 3-1) shot 68% from the floor in the second half going 17 for 25 and were 7 for 11 from the three-point range in the second half.

Central Methodist (6-8, 0-4) was led by Sami Dunger who had 14 points.

Evangel plays at home Saturday against Benedictine at 2 p.m.
