Women's Golf Coaching Staff

Duane Huechteman, Head Coach

Duane Huechteman was named the head coach of the Evangel women’s golf team in 2002. A 1968 graduate of Evangel, Huechteman is a professor in the math department at Evangel. He earned his master’s degree from Southwest Missouri State in 1976 and his doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1998.

Huechteman taught in several area high schools and served a stint in the U.S. Army before returning to his alma mater as a teacher and coach. In addition to his duties as an instructor in the math department at Evangel, Huechteman served as the men’s tennis coach from 1978-84 and was the head women’s tennis coach in 1981. As a student at Evangel he played on the Evangel tennis team from 1965-68. When he’s not teaching or coaching, Huechteman enjoys playing golf and working on his farm.

Huechteman and his wife, Becky, live on a small farm west of Springfield. Both of their sons, Eric and Brett, are Evangel graduates.
