Connecting to the Internet

  1. With your computer off, plug the network cable from you computer to the blue port located on the dorm room wall.
  2. Turn on your computer.
  3. Open your Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).
  4. You should be automatically directed to the REG page, if not, enter "10.11.255.10" in the address bar and press enter.
  5. Type your user name and password where indicated.
  6. Read the Network Usage Policy.
  7. Click "Accept" at the bottom of the page.
  8. Registration will take a couple of minutes.
  9. When registration is completed, you will be directed to Google.

Let's first check your Internet settings

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on "Tools" and select "Internet Options"
  3. On the "Internet Options" menu, select the "Connections" tab along the top
  4. Click on the "LAN settings" button
  5. Make sure the check box for "Use a proxy server for your LAN ..." is unchecked.

Now, let's check your network settings

  1. Click on your "Start" menu and click on "Network Connections" (If you cannot find network connections, click on control panel and select it from there)
  2. Right click on "Local Area Connection" and select "properties" to open the properties window
  3. Double click on "Internet Protocal (TCP/IP)" located in the middle of the window
  4. A new, second window will open up. Make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected, as well as "Obtain DNS server address automatically."

Dial 6245 (MAIL) and follow the voice prompts

  1. Press "Menu" on the remote control
  2. From the Antenna/Cable options screen on the TV, Select Cable option
  3. Select "Auto Program"
