Motor Vehicle Regulations

In order to make operating vehicles in our limited space as safe and convenient as possible for all concerned, these regulations have been formulated to govern traffic and parking on the Evangel University campus.

I. Registration

Registration requires the make, model, year, color and license number of your vehicle. In order to operate and/or register a motor vehicle on campus, you must maintain current automobile insurance.

C. How soon must a vehicle be registered?

All vehicles must be registered within 72 hours after first arrival on campus.

D. Where do I register my vehicle?

All vehicles are to be registered at the Security Office in the Administration Building between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Registration is provided as a service to students at the site of Financial Registration for the Fall Semester.

E. What is the cost of registration?

1. Associates of Arts, Undergraduate and Graduate Students

2. Degree Completion Students

Registering a vehicle for their 18-month cohort will be assessed a fee of $75.

3. Faculty and Staff

The cost of vehicle registration is part of the benefit package for Evangel University employees (faculty and non-student staff, full-time and part-time).

F. Where is the registration decal or hang tag to be displayed?

1. Associates of Arts, Undergraduate and Graduate Students

2. Degree Completion Students

Degree completion students will be issued a hang tag which must be displayed from the rearview mirror, facing the windshield.

3. Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff will be issued a hang tag which must be displayed from the rearview mirror, facing the windshield.

II. Parking

Students

Students may park properly registered vehicles in parking spaces as follows:

Faculty and staff may park properly registered vehicles in designated areas.

Faculty/Staff Parking

Faculty/Staff parking on North Glenstone Parkway is reserved exclusively for faculty and staff at all times.


III. Violations & Penalties

The individual who registers a vehicle is accountable for all parking and driving citations issued to that vehicle. If the individual who registers a vehicle accumulates 20 points during an academic year, his or her permit will be revoked and driving privileges on campus will be suspended.

Operating a vehicle on campus after driving privileges have been suspended will result in a $50 fine and/or impoundment of the vehicle, and the offender will be referred to the Conduct Committee.

IV. Appeals

  1. If a member of the University community wishes to make an appeal regarding a fine, a written request for an exception to the fine, with full explanation, must be made to the Director of Security within seven calendar days, or the right to appeal is forfeited. Appeal forms are available in the Security Office.

  2. The Director of Security will review the appeals for proper disposition.

  3. Individuals will be notified of the outcome of their appeal by Evangel University e-mail within 30 days of the appeal.

VI. Authority and Amenability

Because Evangel University is committed to providing for the safety and well-being of all members of the University community, the University has employed a Chief of Security and Security Officers who are employed as part of the Student Development Division and are granted full authority to exercise appropriate actions necessary to fulfill their duties. It is the University’s full expectation that all members of this community will cooperate and comply with Security personnel entrusted with the responsibility for campus safety. However, failing to comply with the reasonable request of a Security Officer in the performance of his/her duties; using argumentative, threatening or profane language toward a Security Officer; and/or employing any other actions considered unbecoming to Evangel University standards toward a Security Officer will not be tolerated and the offender may be referred to the Conduct Committee.

Note: These regulations are in effect at all times including breaks, vacations and holidays. Any request for driving or parking arrangements not covered by these regulations must be presented in writing to the Director of Security.
