EU Launch is an event intended to welcome you to Evangel and get you plugged into campus life. This event is held at the beginning of each semester for new students.
When it will happen again? The next EU Launch will take place in spring ’09.
This recap of activities will give you an idea of how Evangel helps you make the transition as a new student.

EU Launch took off Friday, August 22 as all new students moved into the residence halls. Campus was alive with families, students, and helpers unloading belongings. Excited roommates met in person for the first time and decided how to share their new living space.
The opening session introduced the Launch week activities, set expectations for what was ahead, and welcomed new students.
The department reception gave students and families an opportunity to meet professors from areas of their chosen major. For many students, this meeting marked the beginning of new relationships that will grow during the course of their academic careers.
A Convoy of Hope Rally on Friday night informed students about a service-learning event they would participate in on Saturday at a nearby school, Weller Elementary. Convoy of Hope and EU partnered together to provide children and their families with groceries, school supplies, and a new pair of shoes for each child. This great outreach opportunity introduced students to community-based projects.
While students were off campus, parents had a variety of activities to choose from. They could attend prepayment financial appointments, tours of the campus, and other Guided Parental Sessions (GPS).
Students attended a Springfield Cardinals baseball game on Saturday evening at Hammons Field. Go Cards!
Sunday morning chapel opened with Dr. Bundrick, Vice President of Student Development, leading prayer. Current Evangel students led praise and worship followed by a singing performance by a few members of the football team. President Robert H. Spence delivered a timely message of critical moments and opportunities that new students face in weeks ahead. Dr. Spence encouraged the congregation to take on an attitude of gratitude for what God has provided thus far and will be providing in the future.
Following the chapel service, students, families, faculty, and staff were invited to partake in a barbeque-themed lunch. Many parents returned home after the meal.
On Monday, students met with an academic advisor to finalize their schedule and attended Impact Sessions (four different sessions ranging from transitioning into college to campus security). A presentation by Monster.com gave students tools and suggestions on how to succeed in college.
Following the presentation, students learned about opportunities to get involved in EU’s various clubs and organizations on display.
Financial registration was the last stop on Tuesday for all students — the final step in getting enrolled!
