Griepps honoredRick and Cherie Griepp

At our Parents Luncheon during graduation week, the AEUFF honored Rick and Cherie Griepp for their outstanding volunteer service. Rick and Cherie founded the EU Blitz Club, which quickly became an integral part of fan spirit and support for Crusader Football. In addition to their work in establishing the Blitz Club, the Griepps have served on the AEUFF advisory board since it was chartered.


Whaley, Hardwick and SpenceHorace Hardwick

The Honorable Horace Hardwick (center) of the Arkansas State Legislature was recognized during the AEUFF luncheon for his years of dedicated service to Evangel. He helped form the AEUFF and served as its president from 2003-2005. With him are Dennis Whaley, director, and Dr. Robert H. Spence, president of Evangel University.


Troy and Marge with SpenceTroy and Marge Compton

President Robert H. Spence presented an award from The Association of Evangel University Family & Friends giving recognition to Troy and Marge Compton for five decades of volunteer service to the EU Auxiliary and Men’s Council. Troy was also a founding member of AEUFF. Through their dedication and unselfish love for Evangel, they have also provided scholarships for students and support for new facilities.

During the AEUFF parents luncheon, Anne Spence, wife of Evangel President Robert H. Spence, was honored “For her years of devoted service as leader of the Evangel University Auxiliary Prayer Group.” She has led this fervent group since 1982. Vice President for Institutional Advancement Jim Williams, and the Honorable Horace Hardwick are pleased to present the plaque.

Sherry Clopine, chaplain of the Lady Crusaders basketball team, was honored for her service to the team, as well as for being a founding member of AEUFF. Her prayers and heartfelt concern are appreciated by all who know her. Also pictured are Dennis Whaley; Leon Neal, head coach; and his wife, Dawn, assistant coach.

Each year a group of AEUFF members serve refreshments to the new students and their parents as they move into the dorms. On August 21, 2004, a special appreciation luncheon was held in the EU Crusader Hall to those who helped. At the conclusion, a special recognition award was given to Myron and Sandy Clopine who helped form the first executive committee of AEUFF 2 years ago. Sandra also has served as the first secretary of the Association and an officer of the local EU Auxiliary. Having previously served as the National Womens' Ministries Director of the A/G, she has also served effectively as the volunteer chaplain for the Lady Crusaders basketball team. Myron has faithfully assisted Sandy in her ministry endeavors. Myron went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2004, after a 16-month battle with mantel cell lymphoma. Known for his sense of humor and unique, colorful ways of expressing himself, Myron pursued everything he did in life with a commitment to excellence and wholehearted devotion.


Bob Bashioum receives awardBob Bashioum

President Robert H. Spence presented the first recognition award ever given by the Association of Evangel University Family & Friends to Bob Bashioum. Having retired from General Electric as manager of facilities-in-construction, Bob has provided an invaluable service to Evangel University through the unselfish giving of his time, talents and voluntary supervision during the completion of four major construction projects on the campus from 1995-2004. Family & Friends president Horace Hardwick and director Dennis Whaley were pleased to assist in the presentation.
