Meal Plans

Use of Meal Plans

All students who live in one of the residence halls must participate in an approved meal plan that includes an unlimited number of seconds, with the exception of steak or similar premium entrées and The Joust. All students will be placed on the 19-meal plan unless other arrangements are made through the University Housing Office. You may make changes to your meal plan at the beginning of each semester until the Friday of the first full week of classes. After that date you will not be able to make any changes to your meal plan for that semester.

Meal Plan Options

What are Crusader Bucks?

All students on the 19 Meal Plan will receive $75 in Crusader Bucks after the deadline for making meal plan changes. Crusader Bucks can be used for purchasing Meal Exchange items in the Joust, buying meals for visitors, or on items like bottled drink and snacks from the Joust.

Crusader Bucks are funds that can be deposited and used with your ID card. They are available for purchase in increments of $50 that will be put on your account. With each deposit of $50, you will receive an additional 15% of Bonus Crusader Bucks. Funds deposited for Crusader Bucks have no expiration date and all purchases are tax exempt. Crusader Bucks deposits can be made at the Crusader Dining Hall office Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Meal Plan Crusader Bucks are funds included with the 19 meal plan ($75 buying value per semester) that can be used at The Joust and Crusader Dining Hall for purchase of products and meals. Meal Plan Crusader Bucks value does not carry over to the next semester.

Declining Cash Balance

Other students have the opportunity to purchase a Declining Cash Balance (DCB) account through Aladdin Food Management. The money posted to your account can be used in the Joust or Crusader Hall. You will receive a bonus of 15 percent on top of the amount you pay (must be a minimum payment of $50.) Cash prices are posted in Crusader Hall and the Joust for meals and meal combos. We do not charge sales tax on meals paid with a DCB account. If you choose to pay cash for your meals, you will be charged sales tax.

Lost Card Policy

Your Student ID Card is also your Meal Plan Card. You must have your Student ID Card with you in order to enter the dining center. Lost Student ID Cards may be replaced at the Security Office located in the Administration Building for $20. You will be required to pay cash for your meals until your card is replaced. Your meal plan is intended for your use only. If you give your Student ID Card to someone else to use, it will be confiscated by the cashier and forwarded to Evangel University administration for proper corrective action. You will then need to make arrangements with the Evangel University administration to revalidate your card.
