EU 24 and Easter:

EU 24 was SO much fun! The bands were awesome! I got to meet KJ 52! YAY!

If you didn’t come this year you should most definitely come next year!!

Well I went to Bentonville Arkansas with my friend Alex and her family for Easter weekend.

I went to the first Walmart store! (It was very cool!) People who know me will not be surprised to find out that on my way to church, Easter morning, I definitely spilled a cup of coffee on me! There was no covering it up either! I mean, the entire cup of coffee was on my Easter dress that I was so excited about getting to wear! Haha I guess it added character to the dress. Just my luck! Haha Other than that incident, my Easter weekend was great! Hope this wasn’t terribly boring to read! I’m off to the caf!

Weather in Missouri is extremely RANDOM!! One day there is snow on the ground and the next day it is 70 degrees and sunny! This past week it snowed and three days later I was wearing flip flops because it was so warm! We get the best of both worlds here in Springfield I guess! (Hannah Montana song haha) I’ve never been as cold as I was this past Thursday night. There was about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground. After my brother’s basketball game (which they won!!), a few friends and I went sledding at an old rundown water park. It was so much fun! After a couple of hours I could not feel my feet or my hands! It was fun while it lasted. :) Well, I’m off to the library to do finance homework!

Hasta luego!

January 2008

I can truthfully say that I had the greatest 20th birthday party! Me and a sweet little girl that I babysit share the same birthday! We have been celebrating our birthdays together for 4 years. (She just turned 9!) This year it was a surprise party! Me, my sister Sarah, and 6 other girls (all who were 8 or 9 years old) went to  Sweet and Sassy’s Salon and Spa!! We were singing Hannah Montana all night long! J We had our hair and makeup done, nails painted and then went to wardrobe! We walked down the run way, pretended we were rock stars, and had the greatest time! And to top it off, we were driven around Birmingham in a bright pink limo!! I think I watched 5 episodes of Hannah Montana that night! It was so much fun! And most importantly, I now know 4 Hannah Montana songs! Haha :)

November 2007

Well hello again!! The last month has been crazy busy but so much fun at the same time! (Fall Break, L2N floor events, Harvest Fest, Halloween costume parties, work, mid terms, long annoying papers, basketball games and Thanksgiving!) This semester has been absolutely great! I’m living my dream!

I went to ALABAMA for fall break. I beat my dad mom and sister in dominos….four games in a row! Ok I might be exaggerating a little bit….I guess my parents call me “drama queen” for a reason! J This is a Jones’ family picture (minus my brother Seth—he had basketball games that weekend)

Ok….I know the Wii has been out for a long time now, but I played it for the first time this past month at our L2N floor event!! I definitely was not that good at it but it was too much fun! I think I will be asking Santa to bring me a Wii this Christmas! J I was being way too dramatic boxing in this picture! My arms hurt the next day!!

COSTUME PARTIES!! I don’t think I’ve dressed up for Halloween since I was 8…maybe 9! The last costume I wore was a felt “song book of praise” outfit that my mom made. I remember getting so mad that my sister got to be the “Holy Bible” ….Oh how I wish I had a picture to show you! But this year I dressed up twice! For our work costume party we were split up into teams and everyone on my team dressed up as tacky telephones! (first picture!) Thanks to Lindsey, I was a RED(my favorite color) crayon for the second costume party!!! (second picture!)

Thanksgiving…..as strange as it sounds, my favorite part about thanksgiving is watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!! My parents came to Springfield to be with me, Seth and Sarah this year! My mom cooked a wonderful southern thanksgiving dinner so it was almost like being home! My mom colored my hair—I’m still trying to get used to it! Oh—and I bought a new DWIGHT HOWARD jersey!!!!

Hello future EU students!!! *For the record this is the greatest school on the planet!!!* (no one made me say that—I’m just calling it like I see it!!) I’m pretty much having the time of my life this year at EU!! My class schedule is good—I love my church—I love my roommate—and I love all of the girls on L2N!!! The girls on my floor are awesome!! The picture above is L2N Girls Night on the Town! The weekend after move in day, we all went downtown to a pizza place, and then we went out for ice cream and a movie!! It was soo much fun! My first powder puff football game is this Thursday!! I’m super excited!! Hopefully in the next blog I will be able to tell you that L2N won!! J This year I have met alot of new great people! I already have made plans to make EU CRUSADER t'shirts for the basketball games and the first game is still over a month away!! (attn: Megan and Lindsey!!) I get too excited about sports sometimes! J (And for those of you that have read my other blogs, just to let you know, I have definitely been wearing my NBA jerseys at school!! ) Probably the funniest thing about this year is the fact that I am taking a GOLF class!! haha...It's harder than I expected. I still do not understand how people play to relieve stress...it creates stress for me!! But I am learning slowly!! I joined SIFE (students in free enterprise) this semester and it is a lot of fun. We are going to start working with local schools, Convoy of Hope, and local nursing homes. SIFE is also taking a business missions trip to South Africa this year!! :) EXCITING!!! I do miss being at the lake and pool everyday life-guarding but school is now officially in session!! It’s so great to be back in Springfield, however it has taken a few weeks to get back into the “school mode”! My classes and teachers are all great! I'm going to powder puff practice---so pray hard!!

Summer days drifting away...sing it with me! ha...I can't believe it's already the middle of July!!! It's extremely hot here in ALABAMA. I've been at camp most of the summer life guarding at the Alabama A/G Kids Camp in Springville. It was sooo much fun!! Our shirts were GREAT/HILARIOUS this year!! As you can see in the picture, it is super bright yellow with a picture of a huge praying mantis and says "Don't Bug Me I'm Praying!!" haha It is by far my favorite camp shirt ever!!! Ashley (the blonde on the left) and Erica (the brunette on the right) were my roommates at camp. They are two of my very best friends!! The only bad thing about working camp is that I missed my own family vacation because of it!! I was at Kids camp while they all spent a nice week at the beach!! Ohh well....Basically, if I'm not life guarding, I'm working at FACS Summer Daycare, singing at church, doing homework, hanging out with the girls, taking tests, playing church league softball or watching the BRAVES at TURNER FIELD in ATLANTA (my favorite thing to do)!!!!

This is the first time I've taken summer classes, and probably the last!!! I'm taking Accounting 2, Micro Economics, and American Literature. So in a way, I'm ready for August to be here already!! I was working yesterday at Summer Daycare, and we had some free time before lunch, so I showed my class the virtual tour of Evangel!! They thought that it was the coolest thing ever! A few of the kids told their parents that they were going to Evangel when they grow up! It was cute that something that small made them so happy!!!

A little random fact about my "summer fashion" is that I have a new love for NBA jerseys and I'm not sure why!! :) ...So far I have Nowitzki, Wade, Nash, and I'm ordering my Lebron James jersey in the morning!!

I will be on my way to Springfield Missouri this time next month!! I miss Evangel and am very excited about my junior year at EU!!! :)

Here’s something that you may not know about me. We all know that every 15 year old girl has some sort of obsession, whether it be a band, movie star, singer etc. Well, when I was 15, I was definitely obsessed with Hillsong UNITED!! :) My parents were excited that I at least chose a worship band as my obsession! Haha. I knew every song, all of their CD’s, all of the members of the band and who wrote each song!! I even knew Joel Houston’s birthday! Haha Well, obviously it has been a dream of mine to see UNITED live. So here’s the exciting news…last Friday night, UNITED came to James River Assembly of God here!!! I left the church feeling good that my long lost dream of seeing Joel Houston had finally come true at the age of 19. J Seeing UNITED has been the highlight of this semester!

I can’t believe my first year at Evangel is almost over! This is my last week of class and finals start next week :( I’ve already had to start packing up my room little by little. But I am definitely ready for summer break! This summer I am working as a lifeguard at the Alabama A/G kid’s camp. I have been working there since I was 16. It is so much fun! :) I will also be going to Honduras with my church on a mission’s trip, and of course, I can’t forget about National Fine Arts Festival! Even though I am not a participant this year I will definitely be there. Then in the fall, I’ll be back in Springfield at Evangel!! :)

Girl’s weekends are always the best. I had way too much fun this weekend! My sister, Sarah, my friends, Erica and Tiffany, and I had a weekend full of girl movies, ice cream, pizza, and a ton of fun. This past weekend all four of us went to get our nose’s pierced. Mom and Dad, if you are reading this, thank you for finally giving in and saying YES!! J Of course, I was the first one to go, and it really hurt. It was so worth it, though. We all love them. This weekend we just did all the girl things. We watched way too many girly movies and ate way too much ice cream. I think that the special times that I have had with my close friends have been my favorite part of college.

My brother finally came home from his missions trip to Thailand. He went with Central Bible College’s basketball team. I missed him so much, but I was happy that he got to go have fun. Oh…and I was happy because he brought back presents. :)

It is really hard to get back into the groove of things now that I spent the entire weekend having fun. I am trying though. There is only a month left of my first year at Evangel and then it is back home to Alabama. I am going to make the most of this next month so I can look back on this first year and remember all the good times and have good grades to show for it!

Spring Break!! I went to my “sweet home” in Alabama for the week, and it was amazing! It was an 11 hour drive but well worth it because I got to spend the week with my family and friends!

My mom and dad both work at First Assembly Christian School (where I graduated), so most of the week I was hanging out there.

While home, I was also able to spend time with family. I went to my cousin’s 16 th birthday party, and I went to Georgia to visit my grandparents. My grandmother is the greatest cook! We ate a huge lunch and after lunch we played yahtzee and spades!

It was extremely nice being able to go to my home church. It was just remodeled…no more bright red carpet! Personally, I think that my dad is the greatest pastor in the universe as well! J I love my family and value every minute that I am able to spend with them!

Micah and her siblingsYou never know where God is going to lead you. Growing up in a pastor’s home with one brother and one sister (to whom I am very close), I knew that where God was leading me was exactly where God was leading them. They are my strength and ultimately my best friends, and God has given me the passion to be right with them as we walk on this exciting journey. Therefore, when my brother decided to go to Southeastern in Florida, that’s where I thought God was sending my sister and I as well. However, God (as He normally does) surprised us with a new plan. My sister and I were now feeling that the Lord was guiding us to Evangel. “But, what about my brother?” I asked myself, my parents and most importantly God. “God knows what’s best.” was the answer I always got and always hated to hear. Sure enough, God did know. My brother was offered a great opportunity to play basketball for Central Bible College (also located in Springfield, Missouri).

I guess that brings me to today. I’m right here; I am at Evangel. My sister is also at Evangel. And my brother, yep, he is right down the street. To top this off, Evangel has everything I need to fulfill my goals for the future. Never once should I have doubted God’s guiding hand on my life. Obviously not everyone is called to the same place as their siblings, but no matter where God is calling you, DON’T DOUBT. He has everything under control, just surrender. My first priority is to love God and live holy, exercising my gifting in the leadership of the Holy Spirit to make a difference by believing in and working through the unique talents, abilities and opportunities that God has given me in achieving my personal destiny.
