Academic Scholarship Information

Am I Eligible?	Awarded to freshman with a minimum of 3.8 cumulative GPA and either a 30+ ACT Composite or 1320+ SAT I (Critical Reading and Math Sections only). All recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.8.	Awarded to freshman with a minimum of 3.4 cumulative GPA and either a 28 ACT or 1240 SAT. Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6. All recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.6.	Awarded to freshman with a minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA and either a 26 ACT or 1170 SAT. Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4. All recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4.	Awarded to freshman with a minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA and either a 24 ACT or 1090 SAT. Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2. All recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2.
How Much?	2 full-tuition and 10 half-tuition scholarships awarded per year to qualified students.	$2,500 per year to qualified students.	$2,000 per year to qualified students.	$1,500 per year to qualified students.
How Long?	Renewable for up to four years to students who maintain the required GPA and comply with university standards of conduct. Award remains the same through undergraduate degree except when GPA drops below renewal requirement.
How Do I Qualify?	Applications are required (pdf). Contact Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 417-865-2815 ext.7262	Academic scholarships are available to undergraduate students based on your high school grade point average (GPA) and either your ACT or SAT test score. ACT score is based on English, Math, Reading and Science only. SAT is based on Critical Reading and Math only. The essay portion of either test does not factor into the scholarship calculation. Transfer students who have not completed two consecutive full-time semesters or quarters must use the same formula as a first-time freshman and must submit an official high school transcript.

Founders Scholarships – Full- and Half-Tuition Scholarships

The Evangel Founders Scholarship provides full- and half-tuition scholarships to students who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Christ and to high academic achievement.

United States citizen or permanent resident
Enrollment as a full-time, first-time student (12 credits/semester or more) in the traditional undergraduate program at Evangel University
Minimum 3.6 cumulative high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale
ACT composite score of 30 or above or SAT I (Critical Reading and Match sections only) of 1320 or above
Demonstrated church, school or community-related involvement
Demonstrated strong Christian character

Matching Church Leadership Scholarships

This scholarship is available to first-time freshmen and first-time transfers who are enrolled full time. The student must have been involved in leadership in either church, school, or community. The student should have his/her pastor write a recommendation giving a brief summary of the student's leadership involvement. The church contributes up to $500 which is matched by Evangel. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

First-time Freshmen - cumulative H.S. G.P.A. 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and ACT score of 22 or higher, SAT score of 1020 or higher.
First-time Transfers - cumulative college G.P.A. 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale and ACT score of 22 or higher, SAT 1020 or higher.

Must have a letter of recommendation from minister. Renewal criteria: Minimum 3.2 G.P.A. and continued church funding. Go to this form >>

Endowed and Private Scholarships

Evangel University offers a variety of endowed and private academic scholarships. While the majority of these are available to returning students, some of these scholarships are available to first-time freshmen and first-time transfers.

To apply for these scholarships, the student must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (both high school and college) and complete Evangel's scholarship and grant application. This application, along with a copy of the high school or college transcript, must be received in the Office of Enrollment no later than January 15. The FAFSA is not required for the endowed and private scholarships.

Legacy Scholarship

This $1,000 renewable scholarship is available to academically qualified freshmen and transfer students who are enrolled in the traditional undergraduate program at Evangel University. Legacy scholarships are awarded to children of graduated alumni who meet the following criteria:

Freshmen with a minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA and either a 22 ACT or 1020 SAT score (not including essay/written portion).
First-time transfer students with cumulative 3.2 GPA.
All recipients must maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.

Performance Scholarships

Forensics
Determined on the basis of merit and demonstrated performance. Students should contact Dr. Mark Kelton at 417-865-2815, ext. 8415.
Music
Evangel makes available vocal and instrumental performance scholarships. These are determined on the basis of merit, academic record and performance. Contact the Music Department at 417-865-2815, ext. 7211 for an application or download the form.
Athletics
Athletic Scholarships are offered in the following sports: Basketball (Men and Women), Baseball, Football, Golf, Softball, Volleyball and Track. Scholarships are based on merit and demonstration of performance. An application is included in the Admissions Packet.
Valedictorian ($500)
Available for first time freshmen who are enrolled full time. This scholarship is non-renewable. Class enrollment must be greater than five.
Regional Royal Ranger of the Year ($500)
Available for first time freshmen who are enrolled full time. This scholarship is non-renewable.
National Fine Arts Festival
Evangel University will make available twenty-five $2,000 scholarships annually. Participation is limited to Merit or Superior with Honors recipients. To be considered for one of these scholarships, a student must be a first time freshman and must complete a scholarship application provided upon request by Evangel. A copy of the award certificate must accompany the application (download the form).
National Bible Quiz
Evangel University annually will make available a $1,000 scholarship* to each of the top five individual Bible quizzers or recipients of the national memorization award. Contact your Evangel University admissions counselor to receive more information regarding this scholarship. A copy of the Bible Quiz award certificate is needed to obtain one of the available scholarships. A student must be a first time freshman to be eligible for this scholarship.

To redeem these scholarships, the recipient must apply, be accepted and enroll at Evangel University
