How To Apply
- Academic – Data collected from transcripts and
ACT/SAT scores submitted with Admissions application.
- Institutional Private & Endowed – Application
is available on the web and in paper form in the Admissions application packet.
Due date – February 15.
- Music Performance – Contact Tonya Thurman, (417)
865-2815 Ext 7211, in the Music department for more information.
- Athletic – Fill
out the Athletics form in the Admissions packet & contact
the Athletics department with any questions.
- Forensics – Contact Mark Kelton, (417) 865-2815
Ext.7233, in the Communications department to request an application.
- Valedictorian – Letter
from High School verifying the Valedictorian status.
- Church Matching – Complete the Church Matching
Leadership Application in the Admissions packet (pastoral approval & minimum
GPA required) and have the church mail the form to Financial Aid along with
the matching funds.
- Fine Arts – Complete application and submit copy
of certificate verifying Nation level Merit, Superior, or Superior with
Honor achievement. Please contact Tonya Thurman, (417) 865-2815 Ext 7211,
in the Music department for more information.
- Bible Quiz – Submit copy of Bible Quiz Memorization
award certificate.
- Royal Rangers – Submit copy of certificate verifying
Regional Royal Ranger of the Year status.
- Outside sources – Check
with your high school, local rotary or key club, and other local companies
or organizations for any scholarship opportunities they offer.
Scholarship Searches
FAFSA
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid
- Determines eligibility for Federal Grants and Loans
- Must be completed every year
- Easy to apply for online
- Requires student and parent PIN
- www.fafsa.ed.gov & www.pin.ed.gov
Grants
- Pell Grant – you must file the FAFSA and have an EFC of less
than 3500
- SEOG Grant – you must file the FAFSA – also please note that this grant has limited funding
and is given on a first come, first served basis
Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan
- Must file FAFSA
- Low interest rate
- Government pays interest while in school at least half-time
- Maximum award for Freshman - $2,625
- Maximum award for Sophomore - $3,500
- Maximum award for Jr./Sr. - $5,500
Federal Unsub Stafford Loan
- Must file FAFSA
- Low interest rate
- Interest accumulates while in school
- Same maximum award limits as the subsidized Stafford Loan
Federal Perkins Loan
- Must file the FAFSA
- Available to students with an EFC of less than 4000
- Limited fund loan – awarded on a first come, first served
basis
- Fixed interest rate of 5%
Work-Study Program
- Must file FAFSA
- Limited Fund – awarded on a first come, first served basis
- Not a guarantee of a job – student responsible for securing
job
- Job postings online
- 10 hours a week @ $5.15 an hour
- Student paid by check based on hours worked – not paid directly
to the student’s account
