Master of Education in Education Leadership
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership program prepares graduates for educational leadership positions at the school, district, state and national levels. Graduates will demonstrate conceptual, organizational, political, social, managerial, interpersonal and technical skills essential for successful school administrators. The program meets Missouri curriculum requirements for elementary, middle and secondary principal certification. In order to be eligible for principal certification in Missouri, students must have a Missouri teaching certificate or an undergraduate degree from a state-approved teacher-preparation program, have taught for 2 years and must also pass the SLLA exam.
Master of Education in Reading
The Master of Education in Reading program is designed to prepare educational leaders in the field of reading as teachers, clinicians, supervisors, directors and coordinators of reading programs. Coursework enables students to explore trends and issues in instruction and assessment and to develop effective methods and strategies for reading instruction.
Master of Education in Secondary Teaching
The Master of Education in Secondary Teaching is designed for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree in a field other than education but now desire to use their expertise in the teaching profession. This track will allow students to achieve a secondary Missouri state teaching certificate in their bachelor’s subject area (must be in a field that Evangel offers secondary certification) while completing the Master of Education degree.
