Housing FAQ
How do I pay the enrollment deposit?
As soon as you are admitted to Evangel University, you will receive an email with instructions on how to pay the enrollment deposit online. When the deposit has been paid you will be able to complete the online residence hall application or submit your commuter forms for approval to live off campus.
What happens to the deposit?
The $200 enrollment deposit will be held on account for the duration of your time at Evangel. If you decide not to attend Evangel University in a given semester, the reservation is transferable to the following semester or year. And you can get it refunded if you notify the Director of Housing or the Office of Admissions by April 15 for the fall semester or December 1 for the spring semester.
Can I live on an honors floor?
You will have an opportunity to list your preference to live on the honors floor when you complete the housing application. When possible, qualified honor floor applicants are placed together even if there is not room enough to place them on the honors floor.
Are students required to live on campus?
Because we value the learning that takes place as a result of living together in Christian community, Evangel University is a residential campus by design. Generally, unmarried students under age 23 are required to live on campus. See the off-campus requirements (pdf)
Can I have a private room?
Private rooms are not available to new incoming freshmen. Returning and transfer students may apply for a private room (subject to availability). The cost is approximately one and a half times that of a double-occupancy room. Please see current tuition prices for exact cost.
Does Evangel offer meal plans for students living on campus?
Yes. Alladin, a company specializing in food services for many colleges and universities in Missouri provides Evangel's "all-you-can-eat" meal plans. There are 3 meal-plan options: 19, 15, or 10 meals per week. There is also a declining balance card (dcb) for students living off-campus. More info on meal plans

Are students allowed to have lofts in their residence hall rooms?
Only students in Lewis Hall (except for L1S) may add a loft to their room since all other halls already have furniture that is convertible to a loft or bunk set-up. Lewis students may choose to rent, purchase or build a loft in order to make maximum use of the space contained in their residence hall room. (Evangel does not rent or sell lofts. Check online for rentals or at Target, Walmart or other department stores for purchases.) Loft guidelines
