You can access your U drive remotely via the Internet. To do so, logon to http://www.evangel.edu/apps/udrive/. Once logged in, you can access your five folders as shown in the image to the right. Please note that you cannot upload a file or create a new folder on the first page.
Explanation of your main five folders
Below, we will be working in the “My Documents” folder. Upon clicking on the link “My Documents,” you will see the contents of that folder. Sub folders are listed first followed by files. At the bottom of the page, you have the option to create a new directory (same as creating a folder) or to upload up to three files at a time.
To create a directory, simply type in a name for your new folder in the appropriate text box and then click on the folder icon to the right. In the image below, a new folder named “Academics” will be created. After clicking on the new folder icon, you will see you new folder appear in the list of folders and files.

Uploading FilesSo far, we have viewed the “My Documents” folder and created a new folder called “Academics” within “My Documents.” Now, we will upload a file in our new folder. After clicking on “Academics,” you can upload files in the “Academics” folder. In this example, I have a file named “Programs.doc” that I want to upload. I simply click on a “Browse…” button (see image to the right). Clicking the browse button will open a new window allowing you to locate the file you want to upload. Locate your file and click on it then click the “Open” button. After clicking “Open,” the browse window will close and the path to your file will appear. Simply click the upload button to complete the task (see image to the right).
Note: If you upload a file with the same name as an existing file, you will replace the existing file. There is no prompt for replacing a file. See Editing Files below.
Navigation and DeletingWe now have “Programs.doc” in our “Academics” folder (see image to the right). In the upper left hand corner is an image of a folder with an up arrow. This allows you to move up a directory. In our case, this will take us to the “My Documents” folder.
Now that we are in the “My Documents” folder, I want to delete the new folder we just created and all the files it contains. To do so, I need to first check the box located on the left of the “Academics” folder. Then click on the red X located at the top (view image on the right). A pop up window will ask you if you are sure you want to delete.
To rename a file or folder, simply click on the corresponding “Rename” located on the right. A text box will appear allowing you edit the name. When you are done, simply click the “Update” or “Cancel” link located on the right.
To view a file, simply click on the link of the file. A prompt will appear asking if you want to view or save the file. Click “View.” Please note: You are not opening the file located on your work machine, but the file was downloaded and opened on the machine you are using. Therefore, if you make changes and save, you simply saved the file in your temporary internet files.
To edit a file, click on the link of the file you want to edit. A prompt will appear asking if you want to view or save the file. Click “Save” to save the file. Save the file where you would like and open the file and make your changes as you normally would. Once completed, save your file and close it. You then need to upload the updated file in the same location as your old file. Please note: You need to keep the same file name to replace the old file.
