She was the managing editor for Christian Schools for the Assemblies of God and served as the Curriculum Development Specialist for the Gospel Publish House before becoming an Assistant Professor and director of the Missions Department at Evangel. She is also the faculty sponsor for CROSSwalk, the student led ministry arm of Evangel.
Her husband, Bob, holds an MA in Biblical Languages, an MBA, and is the Director of Research for the Assemblies of God World Missions. They have three children, Rhyan, a biology teacher in Springfield. He is married to Sarah (Braswell). Dustin is a freshman at Evangel and Natasha a junior at Hillcrest High.
Sandy enjoys teaching and travel and feels privileged to be actively involved in both. She has visited 40 countries and feels there’s always more to learn from the peoples of the world.
While she was still a teen she turned to a Bible verse that helped her explore life outside her culture and try new and exciting adventures. The verse is Revelation 3:8, “I know your deeds. See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” She encourages her students to look for the open doors that God has opened and to boldly step through those doors with confidence.
