Sheri Phillips, a native of Springfield, has also lived in New York, California, and Illinois. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Evangel, a master’s degree at Wheaton College, and is currently completing a PhD at Azusa Pacific University. Having been on staff at Evangel for over 20 years, she also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the behavioral sciences, theology, and academic support departments.

Sheri and her husband, Marty, have two children; their daughter attends Evangel and their son is in high school. Second, only to her calling to Christ, is her calling to her family.

Her understanding of calling has been enlarged by many of the Evangel family who actively model an integration of faith, living, and learning. “My desire is to reflect kingdom living as described in Matthew’s gospel (5:48), ‘live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.’ As Director of Career Development, it is my honor to work with students to help them discover their God-given strengths and develop those strengths in their lifelong callings.”
