What is LifeWorks?
LifeWorks is a campus-wide initiative to enhance and extend Evangel University’s commitment to the integration of faith, learning and living. Its purpose is to help students explore ways in which their faith bears on their career, life-goals, and daily practices.
All LifeWorks programs are based upon Evangel University’s strong conviction that God calls people not only to sacred ministry but also to vocations that are often viewed as secular. Because of these strong convictions, LifeWorks is a program desiring to further help students explore various ways in which their faith bears on their career, life-goals, and daily practices.
The mission of LifeWorks is to enhance and extend the University’s historical commitment to the integration of faith, learning and living by 1) helping students explore ways in which their faith bears on their careers, life-goals, and daily practices; 2) nurturing a culture of calling on the University campus; 3) preparing students to serve the church and the community, and 4) providing opportunities for students to develop as effective leaders in their personal lives and professional roles.
Each day, members of the Evangel community live out their Christian faith in the classroom, the office, the marketplace, and the home. LifeWorks helps them do this more effectively. We provide tools to enable students better to assess their strengths. We connect students with internships in their chosen careers. We sponsor faculty to lead group trips to academic conferences or service opportunities. We prepare students to present themselves effectively to prospective employers.
Review the website. See the LifeWorks advisor in your academic department. Talk to a student who is doing an internship or who has been on a missions trip. Come by our office on the first floor of the Student Union. Don’t miss opportunities available to you this year!
