It was new and peeked my interest. I thought it could be something that would be beneficial for me now and in the future. I got involved when I was a sophmore.

Being in a classroom environment where you can just have open discussion about principals and application that pertain to impacting a group.

Why not? This kind of knowledge is useful and beneficial in any type of setting or for any type of major. When it's used in combination with your major it can have a tremendous impact on the people you work with and your life in general.
How will the Leadership Skills you developed prepare you for your future Leadership position?
The business world is all about relationships. What made you interested in the program to begin with? How and when did you enter?
I entered the Leadership Class my freshman year simply thinking that if I ever wanted to be involved in leadership, I would need that class. However, after an invite to Converge, Atlanta (a 10-day leadership camp which changed my life!), I became absolutely certain that the leadership program was something in which I wanted to be involved!
What has been your favorite/most beneficial part of the program?
The most beneficial part of the program has truly been the increase in awareness that I can lead, I can change. This has been developed through every part of the program, including the classes, the people in those classes, both students and professors, the organizations which I have been a part of and had to analyze because of the classes - all parts of the program are so interwoven that I cannot simply pick one!
Why should other students become apart of the program?
If you want to make a difference in your world, that means you have to lead that difference. The leadership program at Evangel is a phenomenal way to uncover exactly who you are, which leads you to how you lead, which then teaches you to lead effectively.
How will the Leadership Skills you developed prepare you for your future Leadership position?
I truly find that the leadership skills I have developed have given me such an awareness of what strengths I have and those strengths which I must draw from other people. A true leader knows that they cannot draw everything for everyone from his or her own strength. I know that going into future leadership position, I will feed off of the principles uncovered both in class and life-application.
What year are you? Are you a scholar/minor? What are your future career interests?
Senior; Both; My future career interests weigh heavily into celebrity and charitable interests. I would love to find a way to establish charities which can be represented by celebrities who can use their statuses to bring light to destitute situations. I would also love to learn enough about leadership and the ideas therein so that one day I might teach others through workshops and conferences.

What made you interested in the program to begin with? How and when did you enter?
I was interested in the new leadership program because it was a new concept on our campus, and I wanted to help out and to be apart of it. When I was a Junior, I heard about at Leadership Camp in Georgia that I wanted to participate in, and Project Envision, at the time, were giving out scholarship money to go to the new leadership experience.
What has been your favorite/most beneficial part of the program?
The most beneficial part of working on my leadership minor was the practical experience it allowed me to receive as a student under the covering of faculty to expand my leadership knowledge and skill.
Why should other students become apart of the program?
Current students at Evangel should take advantage of the Leadership Program because their future careers call for it! Our society is begging for strong leaders--we need well-rounded leaders in every profession! If a student has practical leadership experience while at the collegiate level, the student will be positioning him/herself towards success because of the quality of time and effort in educating him/herself for a brighter future.
How will the Leadership Skills you developed prepare you for your future Leadership position?
During my leadership academia, I was able to learn about my strengths, skills and potential as a leader. Once I fully understood and accepted God's leadership design for my life, I was immensely helpful in making a difference and composing changes on my campus! Because of the class work, I received the tools to pursue my leadership dream--to form a team and have us establish a leadership conference called Collision for the Evangel students in March of 2007.
What year are you? Are you a scholar/minor? What are your future career interests?
I graduated Evangel University in May of 2007 with an Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree with a Leadership minor. After all the work and experience, it was a privilege to receive the Leader Scholar medallion. Currently, I am working at Evangel as an Admissions Counselor for the Eastern Region of the United States. By participating in the Leadership Program, it gave me the confidence to pursue another career and the ability to be flexible in what the Lord has for my life! In the future, I want to encourage and educate collegiate students by identifying their purpose, passion, and potential in leadership!

I took the beginner leadership class because I wanted to be an RA. I liked it so much that I decided to continue further in the leadership program. Two years later, I am a lead minor and lead scholar and I am still not an RA. It's funny how God works sometimes.

What made you interested in the program to begin with? How and when did you enter?
I took the Seminar on Campus Leadership spring of my freshman year and the program was mentioned in class. It sounded and looked like a lot of fun so I signed up for more leadership classes my sophomore year and have been in the program since then.
What has been your favorite/most beneficial part of the program?
The people I've met and the doors it has opened. The students that I had classes with last year are still people I talk to today. When we see each other on campus, since we do not have a class this semester, we ask how our lives are going, what big things have happened this semester, and if they are taking another leadership class soon. We are like a family. Also, this program has opened doors for me on this campus and elsewhere. I see the things I have learned in the classroom being used in my youth group with our mission’s trip teams. I feel I am better able to lead people.
Why should other students become apart of the program?
It opens your eyes to thing in yourself and others that can be improved upon. For instance, I sometimes forget that leaders are not always leading; sometimes it is there job to follow. I also think that the program will benefit students no matter what their major because everyone can be a leader in their own field. Plus you meet more people on campus and become more involved in affecting change on campus.
How will the Leadership Skills you developed prepare you for your future Leadership position?
I am currently in a couple of leadership positions on campus. I am involved in New Student Orientation, ESGA Senate/Class Council, Floor Council, Strengths Education, and am the spokesperson for the awareness of underage drinking on campus. I believe that the leadership program and my current leadership positions will help me later in life when tackling any multitude of tasks. I am still not sure what I want to do with my life, but do feel prepared for leadership in many roles thanks to this program on campus. I am certain that this program can and will benefit any person who gets involved with leadership, both on campus and in the community.
What year are you? Are you a scholar/minor? What are your future career interests?
I am a junior majoring in Psychology with minors in Biblical Studies and Leadership. I am also a Leadership Scholar. I have many future career goals. I hope to receive a Maters degree in Human Resources and or Communications in the near future. And later in life I would like to receive a Masters in Counseling. I want to help people be the best that they can be. My current dream is to see a “Strengths Place” on Evangel University's campus where students can go for strengths coaching and mentoring. I would love to be the Director of Strengths someday. I also want to see students helping other students in a mentoring capacity on this and other campuses. Lastly a huge dream of mine is to become an author and to open a Loud Library; a place where people, but especially kids can come and learn, but not have to be quite. I want to facilitate better learning in the lives of children, teens, and young adults.
