Media Help
Welcome to the Evangel University Media Help page. All of our media requires Microsoft Windows Media Player, downloadable below.
If you have difficulties connecting to Evangel Media, try each of the following
-
Update your Windows Media Player to the latest version for your operating system
-
Are you trying to listen to the game on a work or campus PC other than at Evangel University? Often, permissions on a business or academic PC can restrict you from tuning in. It is best to listen on a PC where you have more control over software, settings, etc, like from your home.
-
Try using Microsoft Internet Explorer instead of Netscape. Some people have difficulty using Netscape with Windows Media.
-
Update Microsoft Internet Explorer to the latest version.
-
Run the Internet Connection Wizard to tell Windows Media Player how you are connected. May be in the Start Menu under Start, Programs, Accessories, Communications, Internet Connection Wizard.
If your Media Player buffers a lot during normal listening, try each of the following
-
Increase the length of buffering in Windows Media Player. Menu: Tools, Options, Performance tab, Buffer: 30 seconds. Note that this will cause the broadcast to take 30 seconds to start, but should improve your overall listening experience.
-
Try reconnecting to your ISP to get a faster connection.
Other system performance tips
-
Reboot, close all programs, then connect.
-
Turn off Windows Media Visualizations. Menu: View, Now Playing Tools, Uncheck: Show Visualizations.
