Springfield, MO. — Walton Construction will place the final 20-foot section on top of Evangel University’s new 75-foot-tall clock tower at approximately 8:30 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, June 14).

The first section — a four-legged, 55-foot-tall, 25,000 lb. structure — was set in place late Tuesday.

The new clock tower, which will include a carillon, is being erected at the central part of the campus and will be topped by a large stainless steel cross.

“The clock tower was underwritten by alumni and friends as an expression of thanksgiving for 50 years of God’s faithfulness,” said Evangel President Robert H. Spence.

The project, designed by Sapp Design Agency, is being constructed by Walton Construction Company and will be completed later this summer.
