Springfield, Mo. — Evangel University is one of 13 schools whose students will benefit from the generosity of three organizations that recently provided grants to the Missouri Colleges Fund.
Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation, H&R Block Bank and Emerson Charitable Trust all made significant donations to the MCF. The grants include $15,000 from Enterprise, $5,000 from H&R Block and an undisclosed amount from Emerson.
The grants will underwrite scholarships for each of the 13 MCF member schools and will be awarded to students on the basis of financial need.
“Evangel University is grateful to Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation, H&R Block Bank, Emerson Charitable Trust and the Missouri Colleges Fund for these gifts,” said Dr. Robert H. Spence, president. “These contributions convey the importance of education and its impact on Missouri’s economy.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a nonprofit corporation. The mission of MCF is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal arts colleges and universities.
In addition to Evangel University, Missouri Colleges Fund member schools are Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, Maryville University and Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.
