Springfield, Mo. — The Musgrave Foundation, citing a desire to invest in education in Southwest Missouri, recently provided a $5,000 grant to the Missouri Colleges Fund, specifically for the three Springfield-area member schools.
The grant will underwrite scholarships for students at Evangel University, Drury University and Southwest Baptist University and will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
The Musgrave Foundation is based in Springfield, Mo., and was started by Jeannette L. Musgrave in 1984. The Foundation has awarded grants to many local charities and organizations in the Springfield area.
Mrs. Musgrave had three primary areas that she felt deeply committed to: underprivileged children, helping people with scholarships (particularly young women entering nursing), and providing economic assistance to the elderly.
“Evangel University is grateful to the Musgrave Foundation for this gift,” said Dr. Robert H. Spence, president. “Contributions such as this convey the importance of education and its impact on southwest Missouri’s economy.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a nonprofit corporation. The mission of MCF is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal arts colleges and universities.
