An opening reception will be held Friday, Sept.1, from 7 to 9 p.m. There is no charge for admission and the public is welcome to attend. Contact Elaine Tate (417) 865-2815 ext. 8640 for additional information.
Domke, a family physician in Jefferson City, is an artist devoted to discovering nature’s beauty found locally, but rarely seen.
During the mid-1990s, Domke found himself putting his medical career on hold while he pursued further schooling as an artist. He chose to focus his artistic abilities on photography because it gave him the opportunity to use both his meticulous eye as a physician and his esthetic, imaginative gifts as an artist. Domke’s passion for photography is fueled by his desire to give hospital patients “a visual escape to the world, where people can find comfort and healing.”
Domke’s work and opinions have been featured in numerous publications including the May 2005 issue of Healthcare Design Magazine and in the July 2006 issue of “Wanda’s Tidbits” on Evidence Based Design.
