SPRINGFIELD, MO. – More than 300 Evangel University students will participate in Make a Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 28. The event is being sponsored by Evangel Student Senate, the Evangel Activities Board, CROSSwalk student ministries and LifeWorks.
Students will be leaving campus at 8:30 a.m. to assist at sites such as Big Brothers-Big Sisters; Regional Girls Shelter; Robberson, Truman and Weaver Elementary Schools; Victory Mission; Lutheran Family Services and La La Bye Childcare.
“Evangel desires to contribute more than 1,200 volunteer hours to the Springfield community for Make a Difference Day,” said Lacey Nunnally, LifeWorks Volunteer Coordinator and Social Work Program Director.
Activities include painting, raking yards, cleaning windows, working with children, sorting clothes and a variety of other activities.
“We are expecting more than 300 students to participate before they head over to the Evangel football game,” Nunnally said.
