Local physician honored with Evangel’s Alumni Association President’s Award

Springfield, MO. — Dr. Marc McCorcle will be presented with the Evangel University Alumni Association President’s Award during the Homecoming chapel service Friday, Oct. 13.

McCorcle, a 1973 graduate of Evangel, has been a partner with Primrose OB/GYN in Springfield, Mo., for the past 15 years. He performed the first laparoscopic-assisted hysterectomy in the four-state area in June 1991. This improved patients’ safety and recovery time.

He remembers his time at Evangel with fondness. “My network of friendships has lasted for decades,” McCorcle said.

McCorcle currently serves as the chairman of the Board of Intermed Insurance Company, and volunteers as a medical director for the Pregnancy Care Center of Springfield.

Formerly, he was president of Evangel’s Alumni Association and served on the University’s Board of Directors for 15 years, one as chairman.

He and his wife, Brenda, have four children. Their three daughters are Evangel alumnae.
