In addition, Jenkins is the head men’s golf coach (1998-present) and was Evangel’s head baseball coach for six years (1978-83). Note: Jenkins’ older brother, Don, was a 1987 inductee.

Evangel athletics director, Dr. David Stair, organized the Evangel Crusader Hall of Fame in 1983. The list includes 30 names, including the 2006 inductees. In addition, Dr. Stair has added a new look to the Crusader Hall of Fame area in the Ashcroft Center. A newly installed mural background, designed by Evangel art professor Stan Maples, highlights the new bronze plaques for all 30 inductees.
