New Covenant Academy Choirs to join EU Chorus and Concert Choir in free concert

Springfield, Mo. — The Evangel University Chorus and Concert Choir will be joined by the New Covenant Academy Concert Choir and Chamber Choir to present a concert of Christmas music at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, in the Evangel Chapel Auditorium.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The University Chorus will open the concert with a 13th Century Processional called “Personent hodie,” with brass and organ accompaniment. Then they will be joined by the New Covenant Academy Concert Choir to perform “Ding Dong Merrily on High,” with 4-hand piano accompaniment.

Together, the EU Concert Choir and NCA Chamber Choir will perform “Betelehemu,” a high energy Nigerian carol with percussion accompaniment.

In addition, the EU Concert Choir, the University Chorus, and the NCA Choirs will be singing independently.

Associate Professor Sharon Wilkins conducts the University Chorus and Concert Choir, and Evangel alumna Vicki (VanZant) Wisdom conducts the NCA Choirs.
