The Evangel women will travel to Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri on Saturday, Nov. 18. The game is the second Heart of America Athletic Conference game of the year for both teams. Game time is 2 p.m. in Charles Field House. Both teams are seeking their first win of the year.
Evangel’s women are now 0-3 after dropping a hard-fought, 58-53, game at home to Central Methodist on Thursday, Nov. 16. The game was EU’s Heart of America Athletic Conference opener. Rachel Damanskis scored 13 points and Heidi Kalsback registered her first double-double of the year - and her fourth overall - with a 10-point, 11-rebound performance.
The Culver-Stockton women are 0-3. The Wildcats opened their Heart of America Athletic Conference season with a 76-68 loss at Graceland on Nov. 16. Stephanie Kramer poured in 30 points and had 14 rebounds in the loss. Another double-double was recorded by Kristin Allen with 10 points and 12 boards.
The Lady Crusaders scored 53 points in their first two games of the 2006-07 season and then scored 55 versus Central Methodist on Nov. 16.
Through their first three games the Lady Crusaders have committed 81 turnovers to their opponents’ 59. EU had 32 against College of the Ozarks, 27 versus Southern Nazarene, and 22 versus Central Methodist. Versus Central Methodist, the visitor had as many (22) turnovers.
Evangel holds a slim 26-25 lead. Last season, Evangel won at home 64-51 to win it’s 13th straight game against Culver-Stockton. The Wildcats, however, stopped that streak in Canton, Missouri, defeating Evangel 64-50.
The EU ladies are shooting 15.6 percent from the 3-point arch (7-45). The percentage is considerably better from 2-point range, where the Lady Crusaders have made 43.8 percent of their shots (56-128).
Evangel is led by Leon Neal. Neal has a 283-127 record in 12 years.
Culver-Stockton’s head coach is Dan Chapla. Chapla is 53-76 in five seasons at Culver-Stockton.
The Evangel women will compete in the Missouri Southern State University Classic in Joplin on Nov. 24-25. EU will face the host school, Missouri Southern, on Friday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. The Lady Crusaders will meet Pittsburg State University on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 1 p.m.
In addition to all of their postseason games, two regular season Lady Crusader basketball games will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio, KGMY 1400 AM. The games are: at MidAmerica Nazarene on Dec. 7 and at College of the Ozarks on Jan. 23.

Ed Beach, Evangel director of broadcasting and marketing for athletics, will handle the play-by-play duties as the “Voice of the Crusaders” for the fifth season in a row.
Beginning after Dec. 2 of this year, a selected men’s and women’s “game of the week” will be available for viewing about a week after the contest. The Evangel games can be viewed at All In Broadcasting, www.allinbroadcasting.com. All games will be archived up to one month after the season’s end. Fans can access a game for 99 cents for 24 hours or for $2.99 can watch the game unlimited times and download it as well.
All games are a simulcast with the radio coverage on ESPN 1400 AM and the video portion is produced by ECTV (Evangel Cable Television), Evangel’s student television station.
