Springfield, MO — Professor John Shows, chairman of the Music Department at Evangel University, reports that 1,474 pounds of food and $766.93 in cash were donated to the Ozarks Food Harvest on Dec. 8, at Evangel’s annual Celebration of Christmas Concert.
“Admission to the concert was a donation of food or cash to benefit the OFH,” said Shows. “We met our goal this year and are very pleased with the response from the Springfield community.”
Dr. Adele Newson-Horst, dean of the College of Arts and Letters at Missouri State University and also a board member of the Ozarks Food Harvest, was present to receive the gift on behalf of OFH.
More than five tons of food and $5,000 have been given to OFH in the years of collaboration between the Evangel University Music Department and Ozarks Food Harvest.
