The Evangel cheerleaders competed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Spirit Squad Championships on Feb. 10 at Avila University in Kansas City. Five categories are open for competition and each squad receives points for its finish in the individual categories. The categories are large dance, small dance, all-girl cheer, coed cheer, and mascot. The EU cheerleaders competed only in the coed cheer category and finished in fourth place.
The Evangel spirit squad’s members are Brynn Correll, Aimee Delage, Bryan Dockery, Alison Fletcher, Danielle Frolio, Katherine Gabel, Aaron Girdner, Natalie Henry, Leah Hindy, Jena Kreuzer, Melissa Pritchett, Katherine Severance, September Sherwood, Vaniah Taylor, and Benita Townsend. Debbie and Darrell Ward coach the squad.
