Springfield Mo. — A group of 29 Evangel University students, professors and family members recently returned from a marine biology course field trip to the Florida Keys. The group left for Marathon, Fla. on May 7 and returned Sunday, May 20.

Led by Evangel science professors, Drs. Steve Badger, Mike McCorcle and Mike Tenneson, the group camped in tents near the Atlantic Ocean and studied marine ecosystems by wading, snorkeling and scuba diving.

“We traveled on large motorized dive boats, trawlers, a sailing catamaran and a submarine,” McCorcle said. “Our observations will be shared with the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.”

In addition to studying ocean life, the group also ministered at a local church. The team led worship at the New Life Assembly of God church in Marathon on a Wednesday night service, shared drama, music and testimonies with the youth and performed a dramatic sketch in the Sunday morning service.
