Evangel Harriers Complete First Meet

Freshman Amanda Zgrablich led the Evangel women’s cross country team to a  fifth-place finish at the Miner Invitational on Sept. 8. The meet was held at the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Zgrablich finished 16th out of 77 runners, completing the women’s 5K course in 20 minutes, 58.5 seconds. The rest of the women’s team finished in pairs. Freshman Heather Morrison finished 26th (22:10.2) and sophomore Mallory Brading was close behind in 28th place (22:19.8). Sophomore Kimberly Pasche was 32nd (22:45.0) and freshman Rachel Holderread was 33rd (22:45.5). Freshman Megan Harloff placed 47th (24:43.8) and was followed by junior Sarah Rither in 49th (24:55.3). Krista Marshall, freshman, finished in 62nd place 28:00.9).

The Evangel men didn’t field a complete team, however, four runners did compete. Freshman Nick Reasor ran the men’s 6K course in 17 minutes, 6.5 seconds and placed 44th. Sophomore Erik Hinkle finished 51st (17:39.8), freshman Chris Henderson placed 68th (20:15.9) and sophomore Wes Dingman crossed the finish line in 77th place (21:22.4).

Up next for the 2007 Evangel cross country team is the Southern Stampede at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin on Sept. 15.
