Springfield, Mo. — “Hot Shots Express” will be opening in the Evangel University Student Union on Monday, Oct. 15. The coffee bar is a joint venture between Evangel’s Food Service and “Hot Shots Coffee & Espresso,” located at 2938 E. Sunshine.
A grand opening will be scheduled for later in the year.
Hot Shots Express, which will be located in the southwest corner of the Joust, will be open 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Hot Shots Express will serve a variety of specialty beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, chai, smoothies, frozen drinks and iced coffees. Plans are to also offer baked goods such as cheesecake, cookies and scones.
“I am very excited to bring Hot Shots on campus to open a coffee bar; I have wanted one for years,” said Melinda Love, director of food service at Evangel. “I personally love Hot Shots and I think the faculty, staff and students will too!”
Hot Shots Express is a miniature version of its parent business, Hot Shots, co-owned by Evangel alumni Levi Kulenkamp and Bryan Sanders.
“Students have asked us for years to come to campus and we are happy to be here,” said Kulenkamp.
