Evangel students volunteer to “Make a Difference”

Springfield, Mo. — More than 200 Evangel University students will participate in Make a Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 27. The event is being sponsored by Evangel Student Senate, the Evangel Activities Board, CROSSwalk student ministries, LifeWorks and the Social Work Program.

Students will be leaving campus at 8:30 a.m. to assist at sites such as Maranatha, Pregnancy Care Center, Convoy of Hope, Weaver Elementary School, and various agencies in Springfield.

“Evangel desires to contribute more than 800 volunteer hours to the Springfield community for Make a Difference Day,” said Lacey Nunnally, LifeWorks Volunteer Coordinator and Social Work Program Director.

Activities include painting, raking yards, cleaning windows, working with children, sorting clothes and a variety of other activities.

“We are expecting more than 200 students to participate before they head over to the Evangel football game,” Nunnally said.
