Thompson to perform senior voice recital at Evangel

Whitney ThompsonSpringfield, Mo. — Whitney Thompson, mezzo soprano, will perform her senior voice recital at Evangel University Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall.

There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

Following the recital, a reception will be held in the foyer of the recital hall.

Highlights of the program will include works by Bellini, Schubert, Strauss, Brahms and Debussy, as well as selections from operas such as “The Consul” and “Porgy and Bess.”

Evangel junior Christopher McLellan will be joining Thompson to sing a duet from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera.” Her mother, Kim Thompson, and sister-in-law, Jennelle Thompson, will be joining her in a trio to sing a beloved hymn by George Beverly Shea.

Doree Donaldson will be providing piano accompaniment.

Thompson, daughter of Robert and Kim Thompson of Cache, Okla., is majoring in music at Evangel. She is a student of Jane Munson-Berg.
