Springfield, Mo. — Renowned musicians and performers Kirk & Patti Lytle will present their original drama, “Together again…for the very first time” at Evangel University on Thursday, Nov. 1. The first performance will be during chapel at 10 a.m. followed by a 7:30 p.m. performance in the Barnett Fine Arts Theatre.
Both presentations are part of the Evangel Artist and Lecture Series. They are free and open to the public.
“Together again…for the very first time,” written by Kirk & Patti, is an entertaining, inspirational walk through the “Hall of Faith.” Historically accurate, the program captures the personalities of ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary things during the 20 centuries of Christianity.
Dramatic scenes, sprinkled with humor, along with music from the era, combine to create touching insights into decisive moments in the lives of some of the best-loved saints. The result is a highly entertaining history of the Church from a very personal vantage point.
Kirk & Patti are no strangers to church music. Kirk started as a protégé of writer and producer Ron Huff and traveled for more than a decade with the Spurrlows and Common Ground.
During that time, he provided back-up music for Roy Clark, and produced performances on the “Tonight Show,” “Bob Hope Special,” and other TV shows. He also led the Spurrlows in a Presidential Command Performance at the White House.
After leaving these groups, he accepted a civilian Pentagon assignment at the Commercial Entertainment Specialist at Headquarters Air Force, where he helped to produce the halftime show for Superbowl XIX.
Patti, a nationally recognized soloist, was a minister of music at a large metropolitan church before traveling for two years with Common Ground (where Kirk recruited her to be his wife).
Kirk & Patti are in demand as clinicians and artists in churches, conferences, and colleges, where they are designated as Staley scholars. They are also featured scriptwriters for Alexandria House.
Together, Kirk & Patti combine professional excellence in drama and music with the Word of God to create a unique experience of worship.
